We provide our clients with nearly 20 years of experience in the legal industry.      The firm’s founder, Cara Lee Macdonald, has recruited and placed attorneys in partner, associate, and in-house positions throughout the United States. She spent over a decade as a commercial litigator prior to becoming a legal recruiter and the general manager of the San Francisco office of a national search firm. Ms. Macdonald has been an invited speaker on recruiting topics at various Bay Area legal forums, including the following: Mega MCLE Program (The Lawyers' Club of San Francisco), "The Ethics of Legal Hiring." The Bar Association of San Francisco (Barristers Club Professional Development Committee),  "Bridging The Gap Between Law School and Legal Practice: Resume, Interview and Presentation Strategies." The 25th Annual Intellectual Property Institute (IP section of the CA bar), "Career Options for IP Lawyers." The Law Firm Recruitment and Retention Summit (Fulcrum), "Building Your Firm’s Talent Pool Without Having to go to the Ends of the Earth."      She first became a member of the Board of Governors of The Lawyer's Club of San Francisco in 2004 and has served as the Club's Secretary and Vice President.  For a number of years she was the Chairperson of the Club's "Santa Brings A Law Suit" charity event in which the LCSF conducted a clothing drive to benefit Walden House (www.waldenhouse.org) in their efforts to assist people entering or re-entering the workforce. During this annual event, Bay Area attorneys are asked to gather their unwanted business attire items, which are collected by the LCSF and donated to Walden House clients.      She also held the position of Director of Professional Placement and Development for a Florida-based law firm with offices in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Walton Beach and Tallahassee—a position in which she was solely responsible for firmwide attorney and executive recruitment. Ms. Macdonald’s experience from within law firms (both as a practicing attorney and as an "in-house" recruiter) provide her with a keen understanding of the challenges facing law firm management and recruiting personnel.
